I borrowed this cookbook from the library after the last time you raved about it and loved the conversational voice of it. I noticed the reference book listings too, and especially that more than one chapter has Lord of the Rings as recommended reading for the chapter topic 🤣. I am an unapologetic LOTR person (named my kid in the same spelling as Samwise Gamgee’s firstborn, how’s that for obscure references) so that was delightful to me! And yes, may we all have friends that will bring back food souvenirs from trans-continental trips with you specifically in mind! ❤️
Mine came out great too ... a friend who doesn’t really like sweet stuff stopped over and had one, then another, then another. They’re really a nice balance with the rosemary and the sweetened butter.
I love this book & the author also! Thanks for the the excerpt, recipe, and lovely introduction!
In the oven as we speak!
Trying these today ...

Whoa, these are delicious. My friend said “I can’t think of any way to improve this, I think I have a new favorite baked good” 😄

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this article! I share both of your love for cooking!! Thank you for both methods of making this bread. Great idea!
