Happy Mondays, everyone. Today is apparently “Blue Monday,” meant to be the statistically most depressing day of the calendar year in the Northern Hemisphere, weather-wise. It’s snowy and beautiful here right now, which is not depressing to me, especially when cozy and warm indoors, but if not for the blanket of white, I agree—today is basically the apogee of summer. (This Blue Monday is anything but depressing, thankfully.)
Later this week I’m planning to share a twofer of Sicilian-style pie recipes using the same dough, a mash-up of slices from two of my favorite shops, one in NYC and one in Boston, plus a sfincione, which is a Sicilian Sicilian slice topped with a unique sauce and a breadcrumb topping. In the meantime, a pile of things I worked on for others last year dropped recently, including these bready items:

Who is the guy staring at the pizza on the roof, and how did it get there? Am I the only one who doesn't know?
