Happy Mondays, everyone! (And happy Halloween, too!)
I just got back from the post office, where I shipped off some 700 packages filled with my Bread Baker’s Pocket Companions. Thanks to some pals who came over yesterday to help me stuff envelopes and apply labels, I got some 95% of the preorders out the door. I still have to ship out the international orders and a handful of remaining US ones, but everyone’s should be en route by the end of this week. Thank you all for your patience with this, and I’m so excited to get them into your hands!
Also: I have some news about the Wordloaf publishing schedule. I have decided to move our annual month of pizza content to January instead of November. I chose November back when the newsletter was only a few months old, so it made sense to do it as early as possible. But it has never quite been the best month of the year for it, for a few reasons. For one thing, it’s a short month, with the Thanksgiving holiday right in the middle of it. And having it then means limiting the amount of holiday posts I can share, and forces me to share them a little too close to Xmas for people to have time to take advantage of the content (like recipes and gift guides). Also: ‘Pizzember’ has always been something of a lame portmanteau, and I have a much better name for the month now, which I will share in due time.
So going forward, I am going to reserve November and December for holiday content and end-of-the-year wrap-ups, and pizza month will happen after the holidays, when everyone will be ready to say goodbye to pumpkin spice and panettone and hello to cheesy goodness.
This Wednesday I will be finally sharing that recipe for shokupain de mie, which will be the first in a series of squishy bread content, just in time for holiday baking. See you all then.

Congratulations on your booklet being out, and what a weekend you must have had I’m looking forward to getting mine! I hope this is just the start of your book publishing career.
So excited for your booklet to arrive! And thank you so much for moving pizza month to January! Despite my best laid plans (and sheer excitement for the holiday season), I can never seem to squeeze all the holiday baking fun into that short time period. I’m hoping for an OONI pizza oven under the tree this year, so I’m clearing my calendar for Pizza Parties galore in January!
