First: Thanks to everyone who has signed up to be a paid subscriber to Wordloaf this week. I’m amazed at the response I’ve gotten since I turned subscriptions back on, and I am enormously grateful for the support.
I love Ina Garten for her good humor. But of course people aren't going to keep asking her questions about sourdough bread if she disses it like that! Jeffrey Hammelman said that sourdough isn't really a beginner's bread, and I think he's right. It's not hard to make but there IS some fussiness about certain things like shaping, which takes practice, and timing isn't critical, up until the point that it is! Well I've really enjoyed all the things I've explored and learned over the past 7 months since I saw your quarantiny post and began a new hobby.
