Today’s Friday Bread Basket—a roundup of links regarding bread, baking, and grain—is going to be a quick one, since I’m still dealing with that cold I mentioned yesterday.

Here is a t-shirt that many of you here might want to add to your collections:
I spent hours scouring the web for one of these apple parer/slicers, until I realized that only three were made, ever:

“Yeah, yeah,” I thought. “Big whoop. I have a rotary apple peeler mysel—WHAT!”

I, and I don’t say this often about many things, need this.

Okay, that’s it for this week’s Bread Basket. Have yourselves a peaceful weekend, see you all next week.

I just want to say hi and hope that you feel better soon Andrew!
Andrew,
Love the chess board, love the apple peeler and slicer... they don't make things like that anymore, it is ashame. The modern peelers don't have the same character! As for your COLD, SO where is the "Thick creamy cubed chicken and veggie soup in the middle of the round loaf sour dough" recipe? You missed your opportunity here! Oh, yeah, your are sick! I would send you a loaf but I don't think the soup would stay in the bread bowl. Get well, have a great weekend! John-Paul Martin, Buffalo, NY
