Thank you! No free fruit this year except for chokecherries, due to multi-year drought. But I’ve ordered Jam Bake from the Big A so that I can read recipes other than on the pectin enclosures.

Jes sayin, I’ve been using paint strainer bags since the early 70’s to strain juice. Less expensive than my tea towels, and lasts until you lose it.

Paint bags! I'm pretty sure those are identical to other nylon mesh bags used in food (I use a wort bag myself), but maybe they aren't strictly food-safe?

hmmm, hadn’t really thought of that. They were available way before anything from the food service sector was, and have always been packaged cleanly in plastic.

I acknowledge the concern, but I’ve never noticed anything negative. ☺️
