My friend Josey Baker and his amazing team of bakers at The Mill SF, one of the most important and iconic bakeries in the U.S., was hit with a fire the other day. Everyone is okay, but the damage was extensive and it's going to be long road back to baking again:

In the early morning of June 29, The Mill was badly damaged by a fire. Thankfully, no one was injured and the fire was contained quickly (forever grateful to you, SFFD). We need to temporarily close while we assess the damage and figure out what it will take for us to re-open. If there's a silver lining here, it's you all: We have been bowled over by the outpouring of love and support, and we're deeply grateful for this community. Many folks have asked how they can help, and right now we need to clean up, repair, and rebuild. Supporting that work would be tremendous. Donations will go directly toward those efforts. There's nothing we want more than to see your faces back in our space. Thank you, San Francisco (and beyond!), for your kindness and support. Any contribution you can make means the world to us. We'll keep you updated through the restoration process, and we'll see you for coffee and toast as soon as possible.

Please consider donating if you can, any amount will make a difference!
